How to Find the Courage to Believe in Yourself So You, Your Clients, and Your Business Will Thrive
Do you have the courage to believe in yourself, no matter what?
If you do, lucky you! For the rest of us, we’re familiar with self-imposed limits, mental barriers, and good old-fashioned fear. When facing the unknown, many of us have felt paralyzed by panic, frozen by self-doubt, and convinced that we’re imposters who will fail spectacularly.
Even experienced coaches are masters at justifying why NOT to take a risk or try something new. Fear and anxiety stop us from living our exceptional lives. In this presentation, we’ll face our own fears by discussing situations that fill us with doubt or dread and the self-doubting phrases playing on an endless loop. (Please come with one or two stories of your own, and I’ll share some personal doozies.)
Together, we’ll dismantle mental barriers to start courageously believing in ourselves. Specifically, we’ll explore how to embrace CC#2 (“Embodies a Coaching Mindset”), especially regarding the influence of context on self. We’ll discuss strategies too:
- Preventing self-sabotaging or procrastinating behaviors
- Move quickly from “I can’t” to “How can I?”
- Channel your thinking to attract what you want most
- Bring your best self to clients and build a thriving coaching practice

Learning Objectives tied to Core Competencies:
-
The learning objective is for the audience to discover strategies to develop the courage to believe in themselves. Because true, deep courage doesn’t stem from fancy titles, certifications, or degrees. It’s an inner confidence, an ability to push fear away (or, in many cases, to feel the fear and move ahead anyway), and so much more.
Coaches who have the mindset and tools to confidently face any challenge are well-equipped to bring their best selves to their clients and build a thriving business. Moreover, a courageous mindset is the key to living the exceptional life we all deserve.
-
The relevant core competency is CC#2 Embodies a Coaching Mindset: Develops and maintains a mindset that is open, curious, flexible, and client-centered. It’s about engaging in and committing to ongoing learning and your personal/professional development as a coach. It’s remaining aware of and open to the influence of context and culture on the self. Finally, it’s about seeking help from outside sources when necessary (yes, sometimes coaches need coaching, too!)
This lively, interactive, question-based presentation will spark memorable discussions, key mindset shifts, and important a-ha moments for coaches—and plenty of laughs, too.
