Coach Competency Can Be Regenerative — If You Let It

What if coaching competency is more than a framework to master? What if it is a regenerative practice that transforms how we listen, relate, evoke awareness, and support human development?

In this engaging 90-minute MasterClass, Janet M. Harvey, MCC, explores the evolving “Mindset Arc” — Fixed, Growth, Generative, and Regenerative — and examines how coaching conversations shift when coaches move beyond performance orientation toward whole-system awareness and sustainable human flourishing. Building from her earlier Coaching Science presentation, What Comes After Growth Mindset, this session deepens the conversation through the lens of the SEP 2025 ICF Core Competency and sub-competency updates.

Participants will explore how mindset reveals itself through language, tone, timing, curiosity, trustworthiness, and relational presence. Through reflection, discussion, practical application, and a live 20-minute coaching demonstration with debrief, coaches will learn how competencies such as Maintains Presence, Listens Actively, Cultivates Trust and Safety, Embodies a Coaching Mindset, and Evokes Awareness become regenerative capacities when intentionally embodied.

This session is designed for experienced coaches who want to deepen their ability to recognize developmental patterns, evoke expanded awareness, and facilitate transformational movement from “I” to “We” to “All of Us.”

Learning Objectives:

• The training is coach-specific in nature, 
  - Distinguish the characteristics of Fixed, Growth, Generative, and Regenerative mindsets through client language, relational dynamics, and coaching presence

• The training is related to the Core Competencies, 
  - Apply SEP 2025 ICF Core Competency sub-competency updates to evoke expanded awareness, curiosity, and developmental movement within coaching conversations.

• The training will help the coach to further develop their skills when working with clients.
   - Applies directly to coach-client interaction and coaching dialogue.
