Connecting to Something Greater Than Ourselves: Spiritual Wellbeing and the ICF Core Competencies
In a world accelerating faster than our capacity to adapt, coaches need more than techniques—we need deep connection to something greater than ourselves. This interactive session explores how spiritual wellbeing grounds our coaching presence and enhances our ability to facilitate profound transformation.
We'll examine how three ICF Core Competencies—Embodies a Coaching Mindset, Maintains Presence, and Evokes Awareness—invite us into deeper spiritual practice. When we "use awareness of self and one's intuition to benefit clients" (2.05), we're accessing wisdom beyond our conscious mind. When we're "comfortable working in a space of not knowing" (5.06) and "create space for silence, pause or reflection" (5.07), we model trust in emergence. When we facilitate awareness through silence and invite clients to "explore beyond current thinking" (7.04), we're creating space for connection to inner knowing.
Through reflection, practice, and discussion, participants will explore how cultivating their own spiritual wellbeing—through intuitive awareness, reflective practice, and connection to purpose—strengthens their coaching presence and deepens client impact. You'll leave with practical approaches to integrate spiritual wellbeing into your ongoing development as a coach.

- Apply spiritual wellbeing practices to strengthen their embodiment of ICF Core Competency 2 (Embodies a Coaching Mindset), specifically using awareness of self and intuition to benefit clients (2.05) and developing ongoing reflective practice (2.03).
- Integrate intentional silence and presence into coaching conversations, demonstrating Core Competency 5 (Maintains Presence) by creating space for silence, pause, and reflection (5.07) and remaining comfortable in spaces of not knowing (5.06).
- Utilize intuitive awareness and silence as tools to evoke client insight, strengthening Core Competency 7 (Evokes Awareness) by helping clients explore beyond current thinking (7.04) and inviting them to share more about their experience in the moment (7.05).
