The Power Position: A Framework for Mapping What Comes Next
Most career conversations circle the same questions without landing anywhere: What do you want? What are you good at? What's out there? Separately, those questions are noise. Together, mapped honestly, they produce a usable picture of what comes next.
The Power Position is a three-circle framework that gives coaches a concrete, repeatable tool for helping clients cut through ambiguity and identify their most viable career direction. The three circles are Passion & Interests (what genuinely energizes a client, not what sounds good), Market Demand (what the market pays for, backed by evidence rather than assumption), and Skills & Experience (not just capability, but what a client wants to keep doing). Where all three overlap is the Power Position: the place where a client's next move has the best odds of being both sustainable and strategic.
In this session, coaches get the full framework, including a guided walkthrough of 15 questions across the three circles and the accompanying worksheet from No Stone Unturned Consulting. We will explore how each circle operates independently and why the overlap, not any single circle alone, is where real strategic clarity lives. We will also address a key nuance the framework builds in: the circles are not static. They expand and contract based on life stage, financial constraints, geography, and market conditions. Coaching clients through which circle to expand, and at what cost, is where the real work happens.
Participants leave with a tool they can use immediately in one-on-one coaching, group programming, or workshop settings. This session fits coaches at any stage who want a structured, honest, and repeatable framework for career transition conversations.
