HR + Coaching Series/ Why Leadership Development Isn’t Sticking and How Coaching Changes the Equation

Organizations invest significant time and resources into leadership development, yet many still struggle to see meaningful, sustained behavior change.

Leaders leave workshops inspired and informed, but quickly return to old habits once they are back in the reality of day-to-day operations. The result is a persistent gap between learning and application, one that limits both individual effectiveness and organizational impact.

This session explores why traditional leadership development efforts often fall short and introduces coaching as the critical mechanism that bridges the gap between knowledge and behavior.

Participants will gain insight into:

  • Why leadership development alone does not drive lasting change
  • The concept of the “transfer-of-learning gap” and its impact on performance
  • How coaching reinforces learning, strengthens accountability, and supports real-world application
  • Practical ways HR professionals can integrate coaching into leadership development efforts and everyday conversations

Designed for HR professionals and organizational leaders, this session offers a fresh perspective on how to elevate leadership development from a one-time event to a sustained, embedded practice.
