Diversity, Equity Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ) have been the compass that guides ICF Global and all its chapters. In July 2020, the ICF Global Board of Directors approved the ICF Statement of Diversity, Inclusion, Belonging, and Justice. Since the creation of this document, a DEIJ Task Force has been created and has been putting words into practice.
Our ICF South Florida chapter is a truly diverse group of people that represent the richness of our region: ethnicities, cultural identity, languages, genders, abilities, coaching types – we have members and credentialed coaches that help to nurture and create a community in which any individual or group can be and feel welcomed, respected, supported, and valued.
Our committees work to create programs and offers that represent our members and connect them to the community. The Programming committee has been offering monthly opportunities for learning and connection; the Outreach committee has been creating collaboration opportunities with other organizations that are equally serving South Florida, amplifying the power of all their members and amplifying the power of coaching to many more. And our Membership committee has been working to bring more and more people to know the power of our community. Together, we all work to make coaching an integral part of a thriving society.
ICF will place diversity, inclusion, belonging, and justice at the forefront of every decision we make within our Association, globally, and in our chapter.
I want to invite you to participate in our meetings, volunteer, and witness the power of our community.
Marcia Teixeira
President of ICF South Florida Charter Chapter
