We’re excited to share that the ICF South Florida Outreach Committee successfully hosted its first Monthly Catch-Up Meeting, and it was packed with connection, collaboration, and meaningful conversations!
From reinforcing the value of volunteering to discussing ways to make coaching more visible and accessible across our community, the session brought together passionate coaches ready to contribute and grow together.
✨ Key Highlights from the Meeting: The Power of Volunteering. We revisited how volunteering is not just about giving — it’s also about receiving. Rosario’s touching story reminded us that the act of coaching and supporting others can be equally transformative for the coach.
A Refresher on Our Strategy: “3 Ps + V”. We explored our Outreach strategy through the lens of: 🔹 Programs/Products 🔹 Promotion/Marketing 🔹 Prospects/Partners 💛 Volunteers
This approach helps us organize our efforts while creating space for growth and creativity.
🔹 Program Spotlights / We reviewed four key programs currently in motion: HR + Coaching, Leadership + Coaching, Coaching in Education, and Coaching for Social Impact
We discussed how these initiatives are structured and shared examples of how they’re being promoted and implemented in the field.
🔹 Promotion / We revisited what we have done so far in this arena, working on social media posts and internal communications, and agree to start working on the creation and delivery of more relevant content for 'non-coaches' audiences' (e.g. webinars/seminars, articles, success stories, infographics, etc.) to raise awareness around the power of coaching.
🔹 Prospecting/ We identified this is one of our biggest challenges, so for the remainder of the year we will be focusing on improving our outreach to potential partners and supporters for our programs and initiatives. We also noticed this is a challenging area for most coaches so we are currently brewing our first-ever bootcamp for volunteers titled "From Small Talks to Meaningful Partnerships" to be better equiped to accomplish this task. Stay tuned as we will be sharing more details about this bootcamp shortly.
💛 Evolving Our Volunteer Structure: As nothing is possible without our volunteers we want to make it easier for members to get involved, introducing a refreshed structure for Outreach volunteers comprised by:
- Program Leaders: to oversee some of the programs above that resonate the most with them, or to support the overall Outreach Committee operations. We are actively looking for candidates to fill in these roles.
- Project/Initiative Leaders: these roles will be opened once an initiative or project is confirmed. Could mean acting as Project leader or being part of the support team.
- Ad Hoc Volunteers: similarly, these roles will be opened based on the need. These roles could include: individual coaching, group coaching, workshops trainers or facilitators, speakers, content creators, designers, admin support, etc.
This flexible model allows volunteers to engage based on their skills, interests, and availability — whether you're looking to lead a project or support one behind the scenes. These are also opportunities for volunteers to apply their expertise or to acquire new skills and knowledge.
