Biography
Dr. Kim Aikens brings extensive experience across multiple industries to her work as a both a coach and mindfulness trainer. She has helped individuals transform their careers, start new ventures, become better leaders and learn to cope with setbacks and disappointments. In particular, Aikens is passionate about coaching in healthcare and brings a fresh perspective to health care professionals who are seeking career advancement or transition.
Dr. Aikens is the founder of The Aikens Approach, an innovative corporate mental fitness and mindfulness-training program. Research on this program, done at The Dow Chemical Company, showed statistically significant improvements in employee well being, work engagement, and resiliency. In addition, in her work through Pursuit Health, Dr. Aikens is able to combine mindfulness training with powerful coaching strategies. This dual approach can result in remarkable outcomes for individuals and corporations alike. Services run the gamut from helping an individual physician struggling with burnout rekindle the joy in medicine to working with business leaders striving for peak performance.
A graduate of Middlebury College, Dr. Aikens received her M.D. from the University of Vermont. After private Internal Medicine practice, she completed the Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona. In addition, Dr. Aikens also holds an MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business and a certificate in coaching from the University of Miami.
